Retro Blood 58: Dark Night of the Scarecrow

Welcome back to the Retro Blood as we continue our reviews of Corn Fields and Scarecrows in Horror movies in the 1980’s. Up next, we turn on the TV for a made for TV horror movie, Dark night of the Scarecrow.

Join James Kline and J.A Alison as we talk all about Bubba the Scarecrow. First, we talk made for TV horror and what that is.

Then in our Weekly History Segment of what was going on in Pro Wrestling and Metal Music during the release date of this film October 21, 1981.

In Pro Wrestling we talk a WWF Championship show that aired the same night as Dark night of the Scarecrow and we compare the 18-34 numbers kind of. Full match compared and what show we would have watch that night.

We talk a match between Bob Backlund and Valentine for the WWF belt that the referee declared Valentine the winner by ancient. We talk botches in Wrestling and how they would have handle that today compared by the 80’s.

The we talk in metal An English Metal band “Demon” and their Album “Night of the Demon”.

We talk some of the tracks off the album and the style of music they are. James plays a clip for Alison on Air.

Then we talk a little of the production of Dark night of the Scarecrow with Director: Frank De Felitta and we talk J.D. Feigelson and his original vision to make this an independent film till CVS TV bought it. We talk how fast James would sell out if a TV station bought his horror movie idea.

Then we get to the full review with, Bubba the Scarecrow, Otis Hazelrigg the evil Mail man, James screwing up the name Philby, Skeeter and his crying, Marylee and her seeing visions the kills and the story of the whole film and much more.

So, hide yourself in a wheat machine so a crazy maybe ghost scarecrow can turn it on and drown you out and get excited to listen to the Retro Blood.
