Retro Blood 59: Deadly Blessing

Welcome back to the Retro Blood as we finish up the month of November talking all about Scarecrows and Corn fields in Horror movies. Up next if you like a small farm town filled with a don’t call me Amish people, 3 Hot 80’s women. 3 swerves and the band Incubus then this is the review for you!! Because the Retro Blood is talking all about the Wes Craven 1981 movie “Deadly Blessing”.

Join James Kline and J.A Alison as we plant some seeds in this small rolling hills farm. We talk, BEER of course and what we are drinking, we talk the Amon Amarth concert we went to and what the live experience was like for us.

In our History Segment of what was going on in Metal and Pro Wrestling around the release date of Deadly Blessing August 14, 1981.

In metal we talk about a live concert that Ozzy Osbern had in New York city in the Nassau Coliseum, we talk the tour and why you should go see your favorite bands even if you go alone.

In Pro Wrestling, we talk a WWF show in Pittsburgh, PA we talk the full card Headlined by a WWF tag team Championships match with Tony Garea & Rick Martel vr The Moondogs, we talk about ANDREA THE GAINT VR KILLER KHAN and both James and Alison freak out over this match. We also figure out who the red demon is live on the show.

Then we talk some background on the director Wes Craven and his movies before this “Lasts house on the left” and “The hills have eye” and where this month ranks with his others. We talk where this movie was shot Waxahachie Tx and James shares his memories of Waxahachie. We also skip that is movie was supposed to be in set in Philadelphia. We talk Universal dropping this movie and it getting pick up by United Artists and that this movie was the last movie produce by Transamerica Corporation.

Then we get into the full movie with Jim and his family problems, Martha and her friends Vicky and Luna stories lines, Swerves and the biggest Swerve involving Faith character, Incubus!!, and Alison explains the backgrounds on a lot of the famous actors in this movie the biggest being Sharon Stone. We also talk scenes in this movie that Wes Craven used in some of his later works Nightmare on Elm Street and Scream and so much more.

So, get in your tub put a warm cloth on your face grab your headphones and watch up for snakes and listen up to the Retro Blood review of Deadly Blessing.
